I am a passionate, team-oriented, and product-focused creative leader with over 15 years of experience across start-ups, game development, fashion and apparel design, advertising, and marketing.
I excel at motivating, developing, and empowering both local and remote teams, fostering an environment where they can grow and consistently exceed their goals. By setting high creative standards and effectively communicating across all disciplines—including art, production, design, engineering, product management, and executive leadership—I help my teams thrive while delivering outstanding results.
In 2010 I co-founded The Tap Lab, a mobile gaming studio based in Cambridge, MA. Over seven years, we developed games for WWE, Sega, Cartoon Network, and Adventure Time, as well as our own titles. In 2017, The Tap Lab was acquired by WB Games, where I am currently Director of Art at our Boston studio.

Team Testimonials
“Joe is phenomenally creative, a calming influence, and extremely reliable, which truly serves his leads, partners, and his team, in a deadline-driven and sometimes stressful work environment.”
“Joe is an awesome art director who fosters a positive, supportive, and creative work environment. He provides clear communication, strategic and creative vision, and always shows genuine concern for the well-being for the members of our team. His ability to inspire and empower others makes him an incredible asset the WB organization.”
"Joe is a compassionate and authentic leader who genuinely cares about the success of our entire studio. His ability to connect with team members on a personal level has fostered an environment of trust and respect. Joe's focus on maintaining a positive studio culture has been instrumental in keeping our team motivated and engaged"
“He is supportive, encouraging, and to be quite honest, makes my job easier by keeping on top of everything.”
“Joe is a really great manager and really kind person. I feel very comfortable going to him with any issues or concerns I may have. He also trusts his team so much which allows for a really open and collaborative work environment. “
“Joe is great at connecting people across disciplines and studios, helping to start conversations that offer new insights and opportunities. He not only starts these conversations, but also continues to keep the flow of communication going.“
“Not only is he a facilitator, enabling my (our) work, but also keeps coming up with new ways to do things, new ideas for the game, encouraging group discussions about new features, pie-in-the-sky stuff that despite odds, could actually become features we can actually do. It's highly satisfying to see such a forward thinker who is constantly trying to make our game better, better-looking, better-working, and more fun. “
“What I appreciate about him most is his demeanor and personality. He works to build trust and unlock ideas and self-confidence in others; he puts people at ease and intently listens. For creative or neurodiverse people who sometimes grapple with their ability to "forge the future" out of ambiguity, this quality is really essential, and a model for other aspiring or current leaders.“
